FUSED and SLUMPED GLASS VESSELS
1982 - 2003 |
||
![]() Fiesta 2002 7 x 17 x 15" I began this series to create more spontaneity in my vessels. I take crushed glass and lay it onto a kiln shelf and drag a pointed stick through it, to feather it. I lay a piece of clear glass on top and fuse this in my kiln. Then I slump this into a metal mold. 10 pieces total |
![]() Mandala 2002 13 x 17 x 19 This series uses all of the techniques that I have developed. I am creating a concentric Mandala pattern with cut sheet and crushed glass. Thin copper foil produces a bubble pattern when it is fired. I also blend the crushed glass (frit) to look like granite rock. These pieces use more subtle colors and I am striving to create a meditative, harmonious feel. This is the current series and 10 have been made so far. |
